As a newborn photographer serving St. Catharines and the Niagara region, every session is thoughtfully planned before your family arrives. From selecting props to designing colour palettes and preparing multiple setups, my goal is to create a calm, personalized experience while capturing images that will become lasting artwork in your home.
For Wyatt’s session, I had a variety of setups ready in advance. I typically prepare 3–4 different looks ready to go in my St. Catharines studio.
Why multiple setups? Because newborns always work on their own schedule and set the pace. Having everything ready means we can move seamlessly from one setup to the next while baby is calm and sleepy, capturing a beautiful mix of images without disrupting those peaceful moments.

Frequently Asked Questions About Newborn Photography
When should newborn photos be taken?
While many photographers recommend photographing newborns within the first two weeks, beautiful images can be created at many stages. I’ve photographed babies as young as three days old and as old as five weeks and every session has been unique. Whether your baby is curled up and sleepy or starting to make eye contact and stretch, each stage has its own special charm. The most important thing is preserving this fleeting season before it becomes a memory.
How long does a newborn photography session last?
Every baby is different, so I don’t put a strict time limit on newborn sessions. I recommend keeping your baby awake for as long as possible before your session and feeding them just before we begin. It’s often the perfect recipe for a sleepy, content baby—but babies don’t always follow the plan, and that’s okay! I allow plenty of time for feeding, cuddles, diaper changes, and comforting. I never want parents to feel rushed, and I let your baby set the pace. When they’ve had enough, we’ll know. And that’s perfectly okay!
What should my baby wear?
We’ll discuss your vision during your consultation, but often the simplest images are the most timeless. A diaper cover, a soft wrap, or a beautiful knit outfit is often all that’s needed. My goal is to keep the focus on your baby’s tiny features rather than busy clothing or accessories.
Do parents and siblings participate?
Absolutely! Parents and siblings are always welcome to be part of your newborn session. During your consultation, we’ll discuss the style of images you’d like to create and how much family involvement you’d like. If we include family portraits, there may be slightly fewer images of your baby on their own, but you’ll gain beautiful photographs that tell the complete story of this exciting new chapter. most timeless. What if my baby won’t sleep?
Don’t worry! While sleepy babies allow for certain poses, awake babies create beautiful images too. Those bright eyes, curious expressions, and little stretches often become some of a family’s favourite photographs. I work with your baby rather than expecting your baby to work with me.
Do you provide wraps and props?
Yes! I have a collection of wraps, blankets, headbands, bonnets, baskets, and props available for your session. During our consultation, we’ll talk about your style and any colours or themes you’d like to incorporate. If you have a meaningful family heirloom or sentimental item, I’m always happy to include it as well.
Do you offer wall art?
My focus is creating finished artwork that can be enjoyed every day in your home. I specialize in heirloom-quality wall art and albums rather than digital-only collections.
Every artwork purchase includes the matching digital image, so you can easily share your favourite photographs with family and friends on social media while also enjoying them beautifully displayed in your home.
Where is your studio located?
I welcome families to my St. Catharines studio, located on the west end and also photograph families throughout the Niagara Region, including Niagara-on-the-Lake, Niagara Falls, Thorold, Welland, Fonthill, Grimsby, and surrounding communities. I also offer in-home newborn sessions throughout the Niagara Region for families who prefer the comfort and convenience of being photographed in their own home.
